Berry Gordy was an American Songwriter, Record Executive, Music and Film Producer prior to retirement, which he currently enjoys. Gordy is best known for founding the renowned Motown Records in 1959. His company Motown became the most successful and highest earning Black-Owned business for decades, catapulting some of the world's most iconic musicians into superstardom, the likes of Stevie Wonder, Diana Rossa and The Supremes, Michael Jackson, The Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, The Isley Brothers, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Smokey Robinson, and Ray Charles to name only a few.
